Dr. Mohamed Janabi

Country Director


Mohamed is a senior cardiologist, personal physician to His Excellency, former President Jakaya Kikwete, and director of the cardiology centre at Muhimbili hospital complex. Mohamed is our guru when it comes to advancing medical care.  Mohamed is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.


Dr. Peter O'Brien

Medical Director


Peter is a senior cardiologist based in Lynchburg VA. His enthusiasm and energy are contagious. Peter was one of the pioneers in creating the first government run Cath Lab in Tanzania. He has now set his goal to contribute to establishing the first centre of excellence for cardiology in Tanzania. Peter is based in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA.


Nicholas King, CPA

Finance Director


Nick is a weathered accountant with many years experience in both the private industry and public accounting. He is a Virginia licensed and practicing Certified Public Accountant and member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). 
Nick is based in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA.


Dr. Joyce Nicholas

Monitoring & Evaluation Director


Joyce is an internationally respected epidemiologist with a long list of publications. She turns complex health facility data into easily understandable graphs and figures to help us monitor and evaluate our activities. This allows us to fine-tune our training. She is based in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA.


Tamara Kliot

Head Volunteer


Tamara is our long-standing volunteer. She has patched up many holes, and helped out in many different aspects of our organisation. She has an innate passion to help people where possible. She is currently studying to become a Medical Doctor. Tamara is based in Beer Sheva, Israel



Jordan Slayton

Manager - Cardiology Program

Jordan is one of the Registered Nurses involved with the interventional cardiology program at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. She works closely alongside Dr. Peter O'Brien to help train the fellows, nurses, and techs in the cardiac catheterization lab to help bring better cardiac care to the people of Tanzania.  Jordan is currently working on her Master's of Science in Nursing, to obtain her Family Nurse Practitioner. She is based in Houston, TX, USA. 


Dr. Andrew Method

Andrew is a Medical Doctor and public health specialist, working at Amana Regional Referral Hospital as Clinical Service Coordinator. His expertise is in improving surgical practices, reducing maternal and child mortality, prevention of mother to child HIV transmission, Peer Education programs, Climate change, strengthening Primary Health care, and leadership. Andrew is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
